Welcome to Wrens (Reception), where children begin their journey at Thringstone Primary School.
Our Reception team, led by Mrs Augustin and Miss Taylor, creates a calm, nurturing and purposeful environment where every child feels safe, valued and ready to learn. From the very first day, we work closely with families to help children settle quickly, build confidence and develop a genuine sense of belonging.
Starting school is an exciting milestone. Guided by our vision, Believe and Achieve Together, children are encouraged to be curious, kind and independent while learning what it means to be Ready, Respectful and Safe. Every day brings new opportunities to play, explore, make friends and discover the joy of learning.
Children build strong foundations in early reading, writing and mathematics through carefully planned learning and meaningful play. Alongside this, they develop communication, creativity, resilience and confidence, preparing them for a successful transition into Year 1.
Throughout the year, children enjoy a wide range of memorable experiences, including Forest School, outdoor learning, educational visits and celebrations that help them understand the world around them. These opportunities enrich learning and create happy memories that last well beyond Reception.
