About Our Trust
Thringstone Primary School is a Single Academy Trust. As a stand-alone academy, the Trust is responsible for the strategic leadership, financial accountability and governance of the school.
Our Trust Board is made up of skilled local volunteers who bring a range of professional experience. Trustees set the long-term direction of the school, hold leaders to account for educational performance and ensure that public funds are used effectively to deliver the best possible outcomes for children.
The Trust is overseen by its Members, whose role is to provide independent scrutiny and ensure strong governance arrangements remain in place.
Key governance and financial documents, including our annual report and audited accounts, funding agreement, articles of association, memorandum of association, register of interests and scheme of delegation, are published below in line with statutory requirements.
Chair's Welcome
Wecome to the Trust Board page of our website. Here you will find information about the role of trustees and members, who we are and how to contact us.
Trustees are responsibile for monitoring and evaluating the performance and effectiveness of our school, working closely with the Headteacher and staff. They act as a critical friend and are not involved in the day to day running of the school but work more strategically, looking at how we can achieve our vision of 'Believe and Achieve Together' so that every child can acheive their full potential.
All Trustees are volunteers. Elections take place within school to elect our parent, staff and community trustees. So do look our for information on future vacancies or contact me for more information.
We meet as a full board 8 times per year and then as a Finance and Premises commitee. In addition we have a number of smaller working groups, which are involved in developing and reviewing different aspects of the work of the school and for specific projects, working on areas of our School Development Plan. Trustees are also linked to different subjects and are encouraged to meet with subject leaders to gain a better understanding of how the school operates. Trustees are also linked to specific areas such as safeguarding, health and safety, training, special needs, pupil premium and mental health and well-being.
As Trustees, we are committed to raising standards and hope that you will work in partnership with school staffand as part of our community to fulfill our vision, goals and aspirations. We believe that Thringstone Primary School is an inclusive and creative learning environment. Where all children and adults are valued and respected and diversity is celebrated.

Meet Our Trustees
Ms Sarah Baxter
Chair - Member appointed Trustee
"I was appointed as Chair of Governors in September 2021. Both our boys have attended Thringstone Primary. I am very honoured and excited to serve the school in a different way.
My background is in art and design and education but have held roles in several sectors including; retail, museum services, project management, theatrical costume design and corporate marketing.
I enjoy spending time with my family, spending time outdoors and learning new skills.
Again, I'm grateful to be appointed and look forward to serving as a governor."
Miss Amy Bowers
Co-opted Trustee
My name is Amy Bowers and I am the current teaching staff governor. I have worked in education for almost 10 years, and during that time have taught children from nursery age up to Year 9.
My two main teaching passions are Phonics (early reading), and religious education. Both, I feel, are essential in preparing our children for their future lives in modern Britain.
When not teaching at Thringstone, you can find me hiking in the Peak District, open water swimming, or at the theatre.
Ruth King
Co-opted Trustee
I became a parent governor in 2023 as I wanted to be part of the school my son attends and to help drive the school forward, not just for him but for the whole school and wider community. Having seen how much my son has thrived, the dedication shown by the staff and how wonderful the school is I am proud to have a small part in the schools future.
Mr Thomas Ford
Vice Chair - Co-opted Trustee
Mr Kyran Moore
Chair of Finance - Co-opted Trustee
Appointed in 2024, I am excited to serve as a School Governor at Thringstone Primary School. As a parent, I understand the importance of a strong education, and having my daughter attend school here makes me even more invested in its success.
Throughout my software engineering career, I've developed valuable leadership and problem-solving skills which enable me to leverage pragmatic approaches to find effective solutions. I'm passionate about giving back to our community and believe my experience can be helpful in supporting the school's continued growth. I'm a team player who enjoys collaborating with others, and I'm eager to work alongside the school community to create a thriving learning environment for all children.
