Thringstone Primary School: Wellbeing vision statement:
At Thringstone Primary School, we promote positive mental health and wellbeing across our whole school community. We recognise that mental health is just as important as physical health.
We place wellbeing at the heart of our school so that children feel safe, supported and ready to learn. We aim to create an open and positive culture where children feel able to talk, and where understanding of mental health is part of everyday school life.
At Thringstone, we want every child to feel safe, supported and ready to learn.
We know children do their best when they feel happy, confident and understood. Mental health and wellbeing are part of everyday school life, not something separate.
Strong relationships, clear routines and a calm environment help children feel secure. Our values of Belief, Respect, Kindness, Resilience and Teamwork guide how we support one another.
How we support children
All staff play a role in supporting children’s wellbeing.
We notice when something isn’t right and act early. Support might be as simple as a check-in with a trusted adult, or more targeted help through our pastoral team.
We also teach children how to understand their feelings, manage challenges and ask for help through our PSHE curriculum.
Working with families
We work closely with parents and carers.
If we have concerns, we will talk with you and agree next steps together. If you have any worries about your child, please let us know. Early conversations make a difference.
Getting help
If you would like to speak to someone, please contact the school office and we will direct you to the right person.
