Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

At Thringstone Primary School, we believe every child should feel valued, supported and able to succeed. Our vision, Believe and Achieve Together, underpins everything we do and sits at the heart of our approach to supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities.

We are committed to identifying additional needs early and putting the right support in place so that every child can access learning, build confidence and make progress. We recognise that children develop in different ways and at different rates, and that some may need extra support with learning, communication, physical development or emotional wellbeing. This support may be short term or ongoing, depending on individual need.

We follow the SEND Code of Practice and use a graduated approach to support children effectively. This means we assess needs carefully, plan appropriate support, review progress regularly and work closely with families throughout the process. Where appropriate, we also work alongside external professionals to ensure children receive the right help at the right time.

Our SENDCo, Mrs Sarah Augustin, oversees SEND provision across the school and works closely with staff, parents and external agencies. She can be contacted via the school office if you have any questions or concerns.

Further information about how we support pupils with SEND, including our approach, provision and procedures, can be found in the SEND Information Report and SEND Policy, which are available below.
