Thringstone Primary School

Accessibility Plan

We are committed to making sure that every child and family feels included, supported and able to thrive at Thringstone.

It is a legal requirement for schools to have an Accessibility Plan under the Equality Act 2010. This act brought together previous equality laws, including the Disability Discrimination Act. It states that schools must not discriminate against pupils based on sex, race, disability, religion or belief, or sexual orientation.

A person is considered to have a disability under the Equality Act if they have a physical or mental impairment that has a substantial and long-term impact on their ability to carry out normal day-to-day activities.

At Thringstone, we work to create an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome. We aim to remove or reduce any barriers so that all children can take part in school life and achieve their best. We also want to build a culture that values difference, promotes understanding and encourages kindness and respect.

The school's Trustees are responsible for making sure the Accessibility Plan is followed, resourced and reviewed.
