Thringstone Primary School

Pupil Leadership & Voice

At Thringstone Primary School, we believe every child has something valuable to contribute. We encourage children to share their ideas, take on responsibility and make a positive difference within our school community.

Whether representing their classmates, leading younger children or supporting school events, our leadership opportunities help children develop confidence, teamwork and communication while living our vision to Believe and Achieve Together.

School Council

Our School Council gives children a genuine voice in school life.

Each class elects two representatives who meet regularly to share ideas, discuss improvements and help make decisions that affect the wider school. From improving playtimes to supporting local charities, councillors play an active role in shaping our school community.

House Captains

Every child belongs to one of our four house teams: Ash, Birch, Oak or Willow.

Children earn house points by demonstrating our school values of Respect, Resilience, Teamwork, Belief and Kindness. House Captains lead by example, encourage their teams and help celebrate achievements during our weekly Believe and Achieve Assembly.

Sports Ambassadors & Play Coaches

Our Sports Ambassadors and Play Coaches help make breaktimes and lunchtimes active, inclusive and enjoyable.

They organise games, encourage teamwork and support younger children to join in, helping everyone feel part of our school community while promoting healthy, active lifestyles.

Music Ambassadors

Music Ambassadors help promote a love of music across the school.

They support singing in assemblies, encourage younger children to perform with confidence and help with musical events throughout the year. As positive role models, they play an important part in the musical life of our school. These leadership opportunities complement the wide range of musical experiences available to children throughout their time at Thringstone.

Growing Future Leaders

Leadership at Thringstone is about more than holding a role or wearing a badge. It is about showing kindness, taking responsibility and making a positive difference to others.

By giving children meaningful opportunities to lead, we help them develop the confidence, character and skills they need both in school and beyond.
